Last Updated: April 2026
Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy describes how Built By The Trades (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website and services.
01 Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, company name, trade type, and team size when you sign up for our waitlist or create an account.
We automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages viewed. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect this data.
02 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services; process your waitlist registration and communicate with you about our platform launch; send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages; respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests; and monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our services.
03 Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety.
04 Data Security
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential.
All sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. We do not store credit card information on our servers.
05 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information, please contact us at the email address provided below.
06 Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You may also opt out of receiving promotional communications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your account or our ongoing business relations.
07 Third-Party Links
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites.
08 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
09 Your Privacy Choices — California Privacy Rights
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Categories of personal information we collect. Through this website we collect: identifiers and internet activity gathered by analytics tools (such as cookie identifiers, IP address, device/browser information, and pages viewed via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager); contact information you submit through our forms (such as name, email address, phone number, company name, trade type, and team size); and advertising interactions measured by advertising conversion tags.
“Selling” and “sharing.” We do not sell personal information for money. However, the use of third-party analytics and advertising cookies that support cross-context behavioral advertising may constitute “sharing” (and in some cases “selling”) of personal information as those terms are defined by the CPRA.
Your rights. California residents have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.120, §1798.121 — including limiting use of sensitive personal information), the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, the right to request deletion, the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information, and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
How to opt out of sale/sharing. You can opt out in either of two ways: (1) use the cookie consent choices presented on this website (or the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer of every page, which brings you to this section) and decline analytics and marketing cookies; or (2) enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser — this website honors GPC automatically as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing, with no further action required.
Contact. To exercise your right to know, delete, or correct — or to ask any question about this section — contact us at [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond within the timelines required by law.

10 SMS / Text Messaging
When you receive an SMS or text message through our platform or services (including referral notifications sent on behalf of local home service businesses through TradeRated), the following terms apply:
Consent. By replying YES (or another designated opt-in keyword) to a message from our platform, you consent to receive additional text messages related to the home services referral. Your consent is not a condition of any purchase. You may receive a one-time introductory referral message before opting in; this message will clearly identify the sender and provide opt-out instructions.
Message Frequency. Message frequency varies. After opting in, you may receive service-related messages from the referring home service business. You will not receive more than 5 messages per month unless you separately consent to additional communications.
Opt-Out. You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent unless you re-opt-in.
Help. For assistance, reply HELP to any message or contact us at [email protected].
Message and Data Rates. Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your messaging plan.
No Sharing of Mobile Data. We will not share, sell, rent, or disclose mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data collected through our text messaging programs to any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. This includes information collected via opt-in keyword responses, mobile web forms, or any other SMS consent mechanism. Mobile opt-in data will only be used to deliver the messages you have consented to receive and for related program administration.
Supported Carriers. Our messaging services are supported by major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others. Carrier support may change without notice.
Privacy. All other provisions of this Privacy Policy apply to information collected through our SMS/text messaging programs. In the event of a conflict between this section and any other provision of this Privacy Policy, this section shall govern with respect to SMS/text messaging data.
